Callings all Domestic Gods and Goddesses!
In these tough financial times, we are looking for ways to cut back wherever possible. This isn’t a new phenomenon, though – Victorian domestic goddess, Isabella Beeton, published a recipe for Britain’s cheapest meal in her critically acclaimed 1861 book Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management. The Royal Society of Chemistry revived the recipe a century and a half later and calculated its costs at 7.5p.
Now we want you to share with us your budget meal ideas. Show us you can make tasty and cheap meals that consist of more than bread and butter.
You can submit as many as five entries and we will then ask you to vote for your favourite meals, with one lucky winner receiving a luxury hamper.
To enter, all you need to do is visit our Facebook page, client on the competitions icon and submit your entry.
Good luck and we look forward to seeing what you can all do!
